ArtUK. One of the early UK art websites, run by artists for artists. Also known as THEPROCESS it acted as an an online portfolio and gallery for artist all around the world. Established in 1997 it operated as an ‘art in progress’ platform until 2010. It hosted the World’s first Interactive Virtual Art Exhibition. 100 artists in 19 countries 1998. The shows ( 2 annual shows) were covered by the BBC and Rioters news service.
The shows are still available online here and reflect a time capsule of digital and traditional art at that time.
